Sanders is an idiot for going out of his way to say what he did. I hope he doesn’t lose
sleep at night for good people trying to save innocent victims of the railroad. To say
that about a 14 year old girl who can’t defend herself is pure stupidity. Its hard to
believe there are people out there of such low morals.

just read in daily herald that lombard considering bushes as baracade for danger zone.curious as to how small plants that if they survive may reach 4 feet tall in the years ahead will stop kids and adults alike from crossing tracks.just east of area in villa park people are cutting holes in metal cyclone fences to create short cuts to parks and school.put the money towards a real fence that is both decorative and protective.check this one out and there has to be others that will work as well http://www.kristenslaw.org/event0603.html

I think there should be a wall there thats to high to climb and to far to walk around and danger signs at the end of the street where the cars go by and all over the wall. NO FENCES either kids will just cimb them. Get rid of trains. They make enough money do this idea there just being greety.

I am very happy to see that Lombard took action on the issue of rail safety. I think trustee Steven Sebby should b recognized for his efforts on driving the fence issue to approval. Trustee Sebby has always stood up for what he believes is in the best interest of Lombard residents and the fence issue was a prime example of his courage. Village President Bill Mueller has done everything within his power to isolate Sebby because he differs in opinion with Bill on the now demolished DuPage Theatre. Bill has made Steve’s work on the Transportation and Safety committee increasingly difficult, including the safety fence. Bill chose to disregard the need for safety in our neighborhood by trying to place roadblocks in front of the progres Sebby ws making in geting our fence approved. Steve persevered in the face of controversy, AGAIN, and we will have our fence. Please join me in nominating Steven Dale Sebby for Lombard’s Man of the Year by emailing your recommendation to: villageboard@villageoflombard.org

Steve Sebby for Man of the Year? WHAT A JOKE! Ask the people who have called or e-mailed him over the years and have NEVER gotten a response what they think of him. Ask those of us who got new streets but NO STREETLIGHTS like he promised us. We later found out he didn’t realize they weren’t in the street deal. Now he wants US to foot the cost of them…WHY? Ask those poor people who live over by Allied Drywall, he promise them before the last election that they would be gone, they’re still there, their overweight trucks speeding up and down Main Street and all the side streets, making them terrible! Drive to Charlotte and Windsor and see for yourself! We have followed others in the District and BEGGED for something to be done about the speeding problems, NOTHING gets done! Now that it’s an election year, he does something! He would be the WORST CHOICE for Man of the Year. I’d rather nominate my dog!

Ignore the person posting as “Bill M.” His real name is Jim Devitt and he no longer lives in Lombard. He left our community in shame after he forgot to staple his candidacy paperwork (as is required by law) when he submitted it and was forced to run as a write in candidate. Mr. Devitt was a puppet candidate for a radical preservationist group that lobbied hard for the taxpayer funding of the DuPage Theatre. Sebby was opposed to letting this group put the bite on the taxpayers and they attempted to have Devitt unseat him as trustee. The rest as you may know, is history. Devitt blew the election on a mental error and the theatre has since been demolished. IIn a matter of months after Devitt suffered the humiliation of defeat, he was caught by the village attempting to build a deck without a permit. The deck was in violation of village code because it encroached on his neighbors setback allowance. Devitt have to remove the deck after several embarassing discussions by the village board were aired on local cable television. Devitt was left with no choice other than to pack up his family and move to another town in shame. To give you a better example of what kind of a selfish and ignorant person Jim is, one only need to consider where he purchased his home. Because he is often unemployed, Jim purchased an house at a “value” in Woodridge. The house is located adjacent to some of the largest and most dangerous power lines in the Midwest. Jim has children, and he has compromised their health and safety for his own selfish agenda. So do not be surprised by his message. Although he has not lived in Lombard in years, he continues to harass residents through local websites by posting under fake names (like this one). He calls the Speak Out column at the Lombardian to spread more lies about Steve and others opposed to his preservationist agenda.

Thank you John for agreeing to disagree with me, and doing so with class and respect. However, “Bruce Watry” was unable to do so, and his LIBELOUS statements should be removed from this blog, and he should be BANNED from posting on here. His lack of common respect should not be an example for ANYONE on here or anywhere else. It is an insult to what this blog was started for.

Fence up yet? Nope. SEBY DIDN’T EVEN KNOW THE STATUS OF IT AT LAST MONTH’S BOARD MEETING! He had to ask public works about it! For someone who tried to pass himself off as so concerned about it, funny how he disappeared as soon as the media went away! If he was as concerned as he says he (was) about it, he would have been SCREAMING to get it done!
