Berwyn,IL.
Berwyn police issued three tickets within 15 minutes around 6:30 p.m. Aug. 18 to pedestrians who allegedly walked around lowered railroad crossing gates at Windsor and Oak Park avenues and the tracks at Windsor and Grove avenues. It is illegal for someone to enter railroad tracks when there are lowered gates, flashing red lights or bells active at the crossing, according to police. The tickets were issued two days after a passenger train struck a car that apparently went around lowered gates in Berwyn, killing two people.
