Hello, this is Lombard calling. First of all, I would like to say my heart pours out for the Bowen family, who recently lost their daughter to yet another train fatality. What’s it going to take to get a resolution to this problem? Villa Park has a chain link fence all along the northern tracks that extends from Ardmore to Addison Road. I want to know why Lombard won’t continue on that fence to help protect the residents west of Addison. It makes no sense at all that the railroad says it’s the village’s problem, and the village says it’s the railroad’s problem. What’s it going to take to get someone to stop up to the plate and stop making excuses? I want to know where the village trustees are on this matter. We need them to make it their problem. Take a walk over here on Ahrens and Westmore. Ahrens has 32 kids alone under the age of 15, and Westmore has about 17. Who knows how many more there are continuing on west. Do we have to lose all these kids before they take the problem seriously? As a parent it is our responsibility to educate our kids, but let’s remember they are kids and curiosity does get the best of them. That’s why it’s Lombard’s responsibility also to help out
