Man Dies After Motorcycle Hits Train

A Rockford man is dead after police say he crashed his motorcycle into a train over the weekend.  Forty-two-year-old Jeffrey McCarthy lost control of his Harley-Davidson at the crossing gates and hit a passing train.  The Ogle County Coroner pronounced McCarthy dead at the scene.  It's unclear exactly when the crash occurred.  The Ogle County Sheriff's Department is in charge of the investigation.
